Der VIBES!

I was eating dinner in front of the TV with my family. When the Channel NewsAsia commercials came on it showed a steady moving shot of interlocking expressways full of crawling little vehicles, with the footage probably taken from a helicopter at a reasonable height. The camera panned eagerly as each second took us to a veritable rat maze of more knotted-entwining grey roads, all of them tightly surrounded by trees of an evil vibrant verdant green. The vehicles all seemed stuck in some sort of ingenious traffic jam. It makes you wonder if, as extrapolated by Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman, some insane demonic infrastructure designer really had bent the road system into one huge demonic symbol of power and is using it to send horrible vibes into the minds of all those frustrated drivers, stuck in their ingenious traffic jam.

'This is terrible!' my mother said, sounding profoundly disturbed. 'They look like ants!' I nearly choked on my food. The vibes had got her, too.

This has sort of reinforced my resolution never to drive anywhere by myself.

KI weekend homework

Why did I chose to take KI?
  • because I had a look in my brother's GP stuff before the school year started, and decided that I didn't want to take GP.
  • because my seniors were moaning about how lucky my batch was, being able to take KI. (note: very very minor reason)
  • because I thought KI would be an opportunity to study something special.
  • because I thought it sounded fun -- and was proven right by the questions in the selection test.
  • because hopefully it is a place where everyone else is either as weird or even weirder than I am.

What do I hope to get out of it?

  • how to argue in a way so that I am always right
  • the lingo to be taken seriously when I try to explain truly weird ideas
  • get used to constantly restructuring my thoughts and realising how truly blur I am
  • bond with my fellow doofi!
  • when to keep my mouth shut.
  • some really interesting tutorials.

What am I going to put into it? (Why, my input of course. Ah well.)

  • my very opiniated opinions, hopefully some of them intelligent
  • homework that is actually done?
  • far too large a percentage of my general leisure-reading time, gladly sacrificed
  • some real effort.
  • beauty sleep. (Beauty isn't very important, but sleep IS. Sleep is very very important to me. It occupies much of my living hours and I protect it jealously. Add that to a set of parents even more militant about my sleeping times than I am and you see my problem.)

Yes! And that's the end of the KI weekend homework assignment. I hope you're amused.

Ego orgy!

I heard the most amazing things today. This is only one of them.

"...So one of the auditors came down to the office to take a look. She couldn't speak proper English because she was from Malaysia. They speak Malay there. So I of course couldn't understand her. Like when she said 'spae-shiaal'. You see, she doesn't even know how to say 'spair-shiel'. HAHAHA you see so farny."

He meant every word of it. He really did.
I didn't know where to look.
